             abstract = "The three-dimensional reconstruction from serial sections is the 
                         process which enables the volumetric visualization and analysis of 
                         objects from the real world. In many cases, one must consider at 
                         first the registration problem between the serial sections. In 
                         this work we present a least-squares registration technique based 
                         on labeled points. The main advantage of the technique proposed is 
                         its numerical simplicity and stability, consisting only of matrix 
                         multiplications and a one dimensional oriented search strategy. 
                         Experimental results which demonstrate the efficiency of the 
                         proposed method are presented. Comparative results between our 
                         approach and a previous work are also included.",
